The BioMechanics Method Online Courses Purchased Through AAHF
Upon purchase of any BioMechanics Method course, your information will be forwarded to the appropriate personnel at The BioMechanics Method. Within 24 hours (usually someone will be contacting you within minutes to an hour) of purchase you will receive an email confirming your enrollment in the online course, along with instructions on how to access your course and set up your password. You will have one year from the date of purchase to complete the course.
The online lessons for each course/module contain text material, video demonstrations, self-check activities, skills tests and quizzes.
The BioMechanics Method Corrective Exercise Specialist (TBMM-CES) course consists of five distinct but interrelated educational modules that teach fitness professionals how to assess clients for musculoskeletal imbalances that can cause muscle dysfunction, joint discomfort and movement limitations and explains how to use corrective exercise to remedy those problems simply and effectively. Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive your CES credential directly from The BioMechanics Method and be recognized worldwide as a Corrective Exercise Specialist in The BioMechanics Method.
To earn your Corrective Exercise Specialist credential, you will complete an online comprehensive course that consists of five educational components:
- The Fundamentals of Structural Assessment
- Understanding Muscles and Movement
- The Fundamentals of Corrective Exercise
- The Complete Corrective Exercise Library
- Corrective Exercise Program Design
You may choose to purchase individual modules instead of the compete course. Each module is recognized for individual CECs and must be completed within one year of purchase of the individual module. It is recommended that the course modules be completed in order to optimize the learning experience.
The BioMechanics Method Corrective Exercise Specialist (TBMM-CES) is the only CES approved by both BOC and NASM!
The American Academy of Health and Fitness has been in business since 2003. We pride ourselves on offering research based, extensive continuing education programs at an affordable price. We often hear that our advanced training programs are comparable to certification programs from organizations such as ISSA, NASM, NSCA and others. And, our home study courses are some of the most broadly approved continuing education programs available. Earn your CEC’s at home where you can study at your own pace and with no expiration date for completion.

A few of our programs are available in a hardcopy format.

Immediate access video content with PDF format workbooks/study guides
- This format also includes an online test.
Accessing Human Kinetics eBooks using your keycode is as easy as 1-2-3

There are no course expiration deadlines except for The BioMechanics Method courses which are to be completed within one year from purchase. However, other AAHF programs that are submitted too long after purchase may no longer be accepted by your certifying organization and you might have to petition for approval.
If you do not pass your exam with a score of 80% or higher the first time, you may retake the exam two additional times at no additional charge. Our tests are developed to insure that you have read and studied the material and not to make you crazy (: If you study the materials provided with your program you will almost certainly pass your test on the first try. We offer retakes to quell the nerves of people who are not good test takers, or because you might get interrupted while taking your test and need a “do over”. It is not because the test is unreasonably long or difficult. We also don’t offer unlimited test retakes as we feel it might lead some people to just take the test multiple times and pass without learning what they should be learning. And what is the point of that?
AAHF tests are timed and you are allowed one minute per test question. So, a 60-question test will be allowed one hour for completion.
You will also find that none of our tests are over 100 questions. A good test, even for an extensive continuing education program, should be able to gage your knowledge without resorting to hundreds of test questions.
Beware of organizations offering continuing education programs that provide lots of credit hours for a program and a 350 to 400 question test along with it. In this case, the extra test questions are just padding the CEC hours by way of the Mergener Formula, which gives a lot of weight to test questions. We also use the Mergener Formula for calculating both BOC and NSCA CECS. So, we are we well aware of how it works and the intentions behind using the formula. If you just want CECs, then go for the 350-400 question tests. But if you really want to learn something, consider another option. And this takes us right back to the unlimited test retakes…what do you really gain from that?
We offer INSTANT GRADING. As soon as you submit your test, you will know if you passed. If you failed, you can immediately take the test again using the same Username and Password. But we recommend that you look over your notes and study a bit more before taking it again. As soon as you have passed your test, you will be able to print a certificate of completion that will have all the information needed to collect your CECs from all certification organizations by which the program is approved.
All hardcopy format home study programs are shipped via US Postal Service Priority Mail. Most packages are received in 3 – 5 days. International packages will take longer–please allow 7-10 days.
Shipping charges are fixed at $8 for US addresses and $43 for international addresses. You will receive an email when your package is shipped; and you will be able to track your package every step of the way.
If you are not completely satisfied with your prepaid purchase, contact AAHF at 800.957.7348 to discuss a return. The return must be within 30 days of the date of receipt of your shipment. Study materials and educational resources must be received in original condition. All return shipments must be sent via USPS Priority Mail for tracking purposes to 7205 Sampal Place, Springfield, Virginia 22152. Upon receipt of the returned materials, the American Academy of Health and Fitness (AAHF) will refund full credit, excluding shipping/handling. Credit will be applied to the appropriate credit card via PayPal. Refunds for eCourses cannot be issued once the keycode has been used. We do not accept returns on online products, e-books, or videos.

If You Ever Need to Petition for Approval, we will Provide Whatever You Need
Although it is an exception, not all AAHF courses are approved by all the same certifications.
Most Certification organizations will allow you to petition for credit for a course if it is not approved. If you need to petition for credit, we will gladly provide you with any information needed. This information is usually the course author’s bio along with a course outline. If the course has been approved by other organizations such as ACSM, BOC, ISSA, NASM or NSCA, it will almost always be accepted by another certification organization for credit. And the credit awarded will typically be for the organization most like the one you are asking for approval.
Do you have more than one certification? You can use your AAHFCE program towards the renewal of several of your certifications because our courses are approved or accepted by more than a dozen of different certifying bodies.
All AAHF programs are continuing education programs and not certification programs. For this reason, your certificate will not expire or need to be renewed.
